With Power on Detection active, and we connect a client’s laptop or notebook to the KVM switch, why do we have to power cycle the KVM so it recognizes the added computer. 

Why doesn’t the KVM automatically switch to the newly added computer?

Power on Detection is designed to switch to the next powered on device when power from the focused computer is lost, simply connecting another computer does not activate Power on Detection
